The Medical Coding Specialist Program (MCS) at LDCC consists of a one-semester Technical Competency Area (TCA) and a one year Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS.) These certificates will prepare individuals for diagnostic and procedural coding positions in hospitals, physician offices and clinics, long-term care facilities, insurance companies, home care agencies, managed care organizations, and outpatient surgical hospitals. Both certificate programs consist of classroom instruction on campus and clinical instruction in clinic and hospital settings in the surrounding area.In this program, there are a variety exit points that you may choose to take.
