In order to work effectively in the health care field, it is necessary to acquire an understanding of medical language. The purpose of this course is to assist the student in gaining an understanding of medical terminology to include building and analyzing medical terms. Emphasis is placed ondisease, diagnostic and treatment procedures, medications and laboratory tests related to each body system. Case studies and medical reports will be utilized to prepare students to use medical terms in a realistic context.
