NURS 231 - Nurs of the Adult II Clinical


The objective of this course is to offer a comprehensive approach in enhancing abilities related to essential nursing principles of caring for adult and geriatric patients with various health conditions through hands-on practice and clinical experience. Students will have the chance to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for proficiency and responsibility in providing healthcare at an advanced level in medical/surgical nursing. The focus of the course is on practical experience and promoting critical thinking skills base on the nursing process of caring for adult and geriatric patients. The main topics covered in NURS 232  lecture will be reinforced and expanded upon through lab and clinical experiences in different healthcare settings. Students are required to simultaneously enroll in NURS 233  as part of this course. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the ASN; concurrent enrollment in or successful completion of NURS 233  and the Fine Arts requirement (ARTS 120 , ARTS 201 , ARTS 202 , MUSC 101 , OR THEA 190 ) with a grade of C or better. Co-requisite(s): NURS 232 .
