Louisiana Delta Community College Adult Education Division is committed to helping undereducated Louisianians learn the skills needed to get a job that can support a family. The goal of Adult Education is to provide adult learners the skills needed to succeed in the workforce, earn a high school equivalency, or enter college or career training. The range of services provided by the Adult Education Division addresses each of these key areas for students.
High School Equivalency Program
- Academic instruction and educational services designed to increase a person’s ability to read, write, and speak in English and perform mathematics necessary to attain a high school equivalency.

- Face-to-Face and Online Learning Opportunities
- HiSET and GED Testing Centers
- Alternative Methods of Attainment
Integrated Instruction in Career Pathways
- Academic instruction combined with workforce preparation activities and workforce training for a specific career or career cluster.
- Participation is intended for eligible individuals at all skill levels, including adults with low academic skills.

- Academic instruction and educational services that increase a person’s ability to read, write, and perform mathematics necessary to transition to postsecondary education or training and/or obtain employment.

Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Program
- Student Leadership instruction and organization for 16-24 year olds
- JAG is offered in Monroe and Winnsboro
English as a Second Language Program
- Designed to help eligible English language learners (ELLs) achieve competence in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the English language
- Face-to-Face Instruction
Community Education Courses
- Digital Literacy Classes
- Stand-alone classes regarding specific content or a full 8-week program through NorthStar Digital Literacy
- Digital Badges and certificates are attainable for each lesson
- Financial Literacy Classes
- Stand-alone classes regarding specific content or a full 8-week program through ICEV on all components
- The full program leads to an Industry Based Credential

Admission Requirements
Anyone interested in registering for any of the services provided by Adult Education must meet the eligibility requirements below.
- Students must be 18 years of age or older to enroll in an adult education program.
- Students 16-17 years of age may enroll in the Adult Education Program only if they have exited the K-12 education system (public, private, and/or homeschool).
- Minors must have a signed age waiver from the local superintendent, or authorized personnel, to enroll in the Adult Education Program.
